Announcing our First Blockzero Chicken of the Week, Bock-Zero!
Our first Chicken of the Week is Bockzero!
Bockzero has been helping us internally with her birds eye view of task prioritizations, pecking orders, and utilizing her egg-stensive egg-sperience in token egg-onomics.
Here is what her owner, Steve, who was also January’s winner of “Dude who enjoys quarantine at home way too much”, had to say about her:
“She has been a huge help to me building the XIO Eggs-plorer website. I haven’t felt cooped up at all this last year thanks to her hen-thusiastic attitude, witty banter, and lovely singing voice.”
Chicken of the Week Interview
Where are you from, and what do you do for a living? If you weren’t doing ______ , what would your dream job be?
I’m a “Rhode Island Red” chicken, but I’ve never been to Rhode Island. I’ve always wanted to be a stand up comedi-hen, I crack myself up all the time. Oh, hey, can I do a bit now? I can? Yay! Ok, here is a sneak beak of my routine. Gotta warm up the crowd first though. Ok here goes…
Bockzero: What’s your name, sir?
Audience member: Anthony.
Bockzero: Hello, Anthony nice to meet you! So, quick question: Why did the chicken cross the road?
Bockzero: To get to Anthony’s house!…
Bockzero: Knock knock.
Anthony: Who’s there?
Bockzero: It’s me, Bockzero!
Bockzero: A chicken and an egg walk into a bar. The bartender asks, “Who’s first?”…
What’s your favorite food? Top 3 favorite albums of all time?
Favorite food: People noodle soup.
1) Bach Bach Bach
2) We will we will flock you
3) Abbey chicken crossed the Road
What’s one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?
I really like the taste of fried chicken skin, more than I probably should. Also, I secretly wish that Toby from The Office would become a rooster.
What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?
I got to ride in the trunk of a car once. That was kind of cool, but I felt a little scrambled when it was over.
Favorite quote of all time?
The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.
How did you first get into crypto?
It was a complete accident. I was searching for a torrent of the 2019 chick flick movie “Bombshell” and my chicken claws don’t type so well on the keyboard and must have typed “bomb” instead… one thing led to another and I was reading about deflationary currency. I will never forget that night! I lost my mother clucking mind! My bird brains practically eggs-ploded! It was a “Grade A” revelation to me that cryptocurrency was a thing and could be a hedge against inflation. I also remember thinking how the face of the creator of BOMB looked a bit like Toby from The Office.
What egg-cites you most about the potential of the crypto/blockchain industry?
I’ve learned so much from watching “Around the Bock” hosted by Girl Gobble Crypto!
I also listen to late night crypto podcasts on my roosting bar. There’s so much great crypto advice to follow such as:
1) You gotta wet your beak to be in it to win it.
2) Nothing is ever free range
3) The early bird gets the worm and sometimes rug pulled
4) Never put all your eggs in one basket unless you’re the founder of the basket
5) A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush but if you stake your eggs you could earn up to 200% APY
Also, me and my spring chicken friend UMA have pecked out some eggonomic plans around Decentralized Finance in our spare time. Crypto has become a bit of an obsession in our hen house!
How did you first hear about XIO/Blockzero?
I was re-watching The Office series for the 8th time and the episode where Toby leaves for Costa Rica got me thinking about BOMB-Toby. So, I cyber stalked him and couldn’t believe my beady eyes when I saw he had created “Eggs-I-O” and then later rebranded to “Bock-bock-zero” (did he name the project after me!? Are we meant to be together!?) to make it easier for people to understand it is an Egg Incubator community for crypto chickens!
What is your favorite aspect of Blockzero?
No matter how many times I ask about Toby, the telegram moderators are always very polite and tell me to visit @BlockzeroSupport and that I might need to “Get help”
What do you love most about the Blockzero community? Explain a bit more about your particular niche within the Blockzero community, and how you got started?
It is my favorite community to talk to! I feel free as a bird in the engaging conversations. My favorite parts about Blockzero are how the Eggs-L-P pays a dime a dozen every month in interest and how the Eggs-S-I program rewards points to ruffle other people’s feathers. I also like seeing livestreams of Toby several times a week.
